Federal Government

USA.gov "A-Z Index of U.S. Government Agencies and Departments"; A good starting point for searching.

Identifying the federal government agency or department that is responsible for the policy area you are interested in can help you find more information. For example, Food Stamps is under the Department of Agriculture, Head Start is under the Department of Education, Fair Housing is under the Department of Housing and Urban Development, etc.
