Medical Center Library Orientation: Journal Articles

Overview of Medical Center Library resources and services

Three Ways to Find Articles

Databases will help you find articles on a topic. Search them by keyword or subject.

E-Journal Portal will tell you if a particular journal is available online via the SLU Libraries.

SLU Libraries Catalog Journal Search will tell you if the SLU Libraries have a journal online, in print, or on microfilm.

FindIt@SLU Button

FindIt@SLU button provides links from library databases to library subscriptions to full text articles. If an article isn't available online, you may request it via Interlibrary Loan.

The three SLU Libraries have subscribed to over 70,000 electronic journals including JAMA, NEJM, BMJ,  American Journal of Public Health, Annual Review of Public Health, Health Affairs, and many more.

Use E-Journal Portal to Find a Specific Article

When you know the article information (e.g., article title, author name, journal title, volume number, issue number, and page number, etc.), you can go directly to the E-journal Portal to get it. View this online video to find out how.
