Provides a comprehensive bibliography of printed documents from the hand-press era, beginning with the earliest printing in England (circa 1473) through 1800. Includes items printed in the British Isles, Colonial America, the United States, and Canada, in any language. Also includes relevant English and foreign language items from other parts of the world. Holdings of about 2,000 libraries around the world are covered, and the location of surviving copies and facsimiles are provided.

Indexes all printed works published in Britain, its colonies and the US, all printed works in English, and all translations from English, from 1801-1815.

Series II, Phase I. (56 volumes)
Indexes all printed works published in Britain, its colonies and the US, all printed works in English, and all translations from English, from 1816-1870. Pius Library does not have Series III.
