How to Create Stable URLs: SpringerLINK

Instructions or links to instructions explaining how to create durable links to journals and articles by source, i.e. database, ejournal collection, and ebook.

SLU Library Proxy URL

For faculty and librarians -

Proxy prefix is required to access subscribed resources from off campus.

Add this proxy prefix to the beginning of article links, ebook links, database links, and ejournal links.

Right click on the link and copy it. Then paste it in front of the "http://... for the article.

Place your curor over the "Download PDF" link to the article and right click.
Select  Copy Shortcut or Copy Link Location depending upon your browser
Paste the link where you want it.
Note:  If you are off campus when you copy the link, you will see "" in the copied URL. 
Remove that part of the URL and place the EZproxy prefix in front of this URL so that the article will be available from off campus.

Creating a Stable URL to a SpringLink Journal

Go to the E-Journal Portal at the URL below.

  1. Click on one of the SpringLink "links" found in the SLU E-Journal Portal.
  2. Copy the URL in the Location Bar from the resulting page.

  3. If you are off campus, you will get the red-highlighted section in the URL.  Remove it "" and place the EZproxy prefix,  in front of the URL.
