Core 1000: Ignite Seminar Library Research Tutorial

Using Spaces in Pius Library

There are numerous types of study spaces and seating available in Pius Library on all floors ranging from study carrels and individual rooms to collaborative spaces such as group study rooms. Tables on all floors can be used individually when you need table space, or can be used to study with a group. Stop by and explore!  Floors 4 & 5 are reserved for quiet study, while talking is allowed on lower floors, particularly in the Academic Tech Commons, a hub for collaboration. You can make group study room reservations online! Use the D!BS system to search for and book available rooms, up to a week in advance.

For one-on-one assistance on the first floor in Pius, visit the Access Services Desk near the cafe, or the ASKSLU Desk in the Academic Technology Commons. Staff at either desk can answer many library-related questions, or will connect you with faculty and staff who can help. Need to pick up a hold request or an interlibrary loan item?  Head to the Access Services Desk. Are you interested in borrowing a laptop, drone, or other equipment? The ASKSLU Desk in the Academic Tech Commons has technology available for checkout.  All you need to checkout library materials is your SLU ID.
