Unless noted otherwise, the following publications are shelved in the general Pius Library collection on Levels 2-5. They are listed here to alert the researcher to the breadth and depth of measurement information available in the library. Older publications may be useful in tracing the development of an instrument over time. Still, care should be exercised when using older publications because instruments described in these sources may have been revised. Always attempt to identify the most current version of an instrument if the intent is to use it in research.

Note: The now obsolete website, Tests and Measures in the Social Sciences: Tests available in compilation volumes (TMSS), compiled by H. Hough (U of Texas at Arlington), contained lists of instruments included in some of the following reference publications. A number of these lists remain accessible via the TMSS compilation pages currently stored in the Internet Archive. The reference books listed in this guide that are represented in TMSS are indicated by the appearance of the notation TMSS following the book citation. While TMSS is no longer being updated, it remains a useful research tool.
