 Search for books using Saint Louis University Libraries' Catalog

Did not find what you want? Search MOBIUS, the Missouri, statewide, union catalog.

Still did not locate a specific resource?  Try WorldCat, the US union catalog.

1. First, try a  keyword search in the SLU Libraries Catalog. Keep it simple. A keyword search tries to match the keyword(s) you entered to the title, table of contents or subject in the catalog record.

2. Scan the list of titles for a book that looks relevant to you.

3. Click on the title to see the catalog record for that book.  

4. There are clues in the catalog record that will lead you to other relevant books:

• The call number is used to find the book on the shelf but it also tells you what the book is about. Browse by call number in the catalog or in the stacks to find similar books.

• Subject headings are assigned to each book. They are located  at the bottom of the catalog record. Click on the subject heading to search by subject. This is different from a keyword search which only searches for the word itself.

1. Search the SLU Libraries Catalog by title, author, subject, or keyword.
2. When you find a book, make note of its current status ("not checked out" or a specific due date), library location, and call number.
3. Use the location guide to find out where that call number is located in the library.
4. Go to the appropriate library and floor to retrieve your book and check it out at the library's circulation desk with your SLU ID.

What if the SLU Libraries don't have the book you need?

To search other academic libraries in Missouri, click on the Search MOBIUS button in the SLU Libraries Catalog. 

When you locate the book in MOBIUS, click the REQUEST link and follow the instructions. Your book will be delivered in a few days.

If the book is not available in MOBIUS, use ILLiad Interlibrary Loan to request the book.
