The most Comprehensive English language Bible encyclopedia. Pius Library also owns the printed set of 6 volumes which is kept on permanent reserve (available at the circulation desk).

The New Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible in five volumes was published more recently but, although it is a comprehensive reference work, it is not quite as comprehensive as the Anchor Bible Dictionary.

The two-volume Oxford Encyclopedia of the Books of the Bible contains almost 120 in-depth entries on each of the canonical books of the Bible, major apocryphal books of the New and Old Testaments, important noncanonical texts, and thematic essays on topics such as canonicity, textual criticism, and translation.

The Dictionary of Daily Life in Biblical & Post-Biblical Antiquity is unique in its focus on the the manners, customs, and cultural practices of the biblical world.
