EBSCOhost Passport

Learn how the EBSCOhost Passport browser extension can help you locate full text.

Why don't I see the "E" icon?

Once you've installed EBSCOhost Passport and selected Saint Louis University Libraries as your library, the "E" icon will display on websites where both of the following are true:

  •  A DOI is listed on the page
  • Full-text access is available via SLU Libraries or Open Access

Occasionally, the icon will not appear for these reasons:

  • The article is very new, and the DOI was only recently registered
  • There is an unknown error

Please report any problems or questions to the library using our Report a Problem Form, linked below.

Will Passport work in Incognito mode in Chrome?

EBSCOhost Passport will work in Incognito mode in Chrome, but you may need to first configure your browser settings to allow it.

See Google's instructions on managing Extensions in Incognito Mode, linked below.

Will the "E" icon appear for articles listed in my email?

At this time, EBSCOhost Passport browser is not configured to work with email to provide linking from messages, such as Table of Contents notifications.

Once you link from your email to a journal site, however, the Passport "E" icon may appear for articles with a DOI listed and that are available via SLU Libraries or Open Access.

You can also search by article title in SLUth Search Plus (link below) to locate article full text or request an article via Interlibrary Loan.

Can I use EBSCOhost Passport to request items via Interlibrary Loan?

The EBSCOhost Passport "E" icon only appears for articles that are available via SLU Libraries or Open Access.

To request an article via Interlibrary Loan (ILL), please find your library's request form on the SLU Libraries' ILL page.

To search for articles and see "Find It @ SLU" options for both full text access and ILL request, you can start your search in a library database, such as SLUth Search Plus.
