LibQUAL is a web-based survey offered by the Association of Research Libraries that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational cultures, and market the library. The survey instrument measures library users' minimum, perceived, and desired levels of service quality across three dimensions:

  • Affect of Service
  • Information Control
  • Library as Place

Since 2000, more than 1,340 libraries in 35 countries have participated.

The goals of LibQUAL are to:

  • Foster a culture of excellence in providing library service
  • Help libraries better understand user perceptions of library service quality
  • Collect and interpret library user feedback systematically over time
  • Provide libraries with comparable assessment information from peer institutions
  • Identify best practices in library service
  • Enhance library staff members' analytical skills for interpreting and acting on data

The entire campus community will receive a survey invitation and link from the Provost's email address on October 3, 2023. We can't wait to hear your feedback!
