ENGL 1900: Library Research Tutorial

Library research tutorial for students in English 1900: Advanced Strategies of Rhetoric & Research at SLU.

Module 2 Activity

undefinedAn important step in the initial analysis of any research topic is identifying the topic's central ideas, or main concepts. Once you've identified the main concepts, generate a list of search terms, or keywords and key phrases, for each concept. Think synonyms, related terms, broader terms, and more specific terms.

The activity linked below will help you identify the main concepts related to your topic, generate search terms that will help you be flexible and resilient as you conduct your research, and prepare you to find sources that represent differing viewpoints on your topic. You'll need these for your Dissoi Logoi paper.
