Offsite (remote) Library Access for SLU

how to access material from offsite for SLU faculty, staff and students

Offsite access

To access any resource, start at the SLU library homepage.

Why?  This will identify you as a SLU person - you will just need to sign in with your SLU credentials. This is especially important for anyone offsite (includes residents and clinical faculty) - and this includes PubMed

Signing in through SLU makes accessing full-text pdf easier. If you sign in through SLU, you should see a blue Find it @ SLU button that lets you access or request articles

Ways to Access Resources

  • use the E-Journal Portal to search for a specific Journal Title

  • Use a database to search for a topic - then click on the Find it @ SLU to access an article

  • Copy/Paste a title into SLUth or PubMed - then use the Find it @ SLU to access

What if you get - Sorry this item is not available?

You can request articles (for free) through Interlibrary loan, just go to request via ILL either Pius or MCL (do not use SSM). Fill out a one time account with Illiad.

The request should pre-populate if coming from a database and You will get an email saying your article is available. (usually within 24 hours
