Offsite (remote) Library Access for SLU

how to access material from offsite for SLU faculty, staff and students

Offsite access

Start with the library homepage - https://www.slu.edu/library/medical-center-library

This is especially important for residents - and this includes PubMed

Why?  This will identify you as a SLU person - you will just need to sign in with your SLU credentials. See below for login screen

this also shows the                 Find It @ SLU             so you can access or request articles

After you get to the library page - do one of the following:

1) use the E-Journal Portal - under frequently searched -  to find a specific Journal Title

2) Use a database to search for a topic - then click on the Find it @ SLU to access an article

3) Copy/Paste a title into SLUth or PubMed - then use the Find it @ SLU to access

4) Try Read by QxMD.  This is an app that lets you follow journals and you can set up Institutional access.

What if you get - Sorry this item is not available?

You can request articles (for free) from Interlibrary loan

just go to request via ILL either Pius or MCL (do not use SSM)

Fill out a one time account with Illiad

The request should pre-populate if coming from a database

You will get an email saying your article is available. (usually within 24 hours)
