Nursing: Resources for the Valentine School of Nursing

Resources and information to help you with undergraduate and graduate level Nursing studies at SLU.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Saint Louis University Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing library guide.

This guide can help you to effectively and efficiently access the library collections and to find the resources and services for your research and to support your studies. Included are nursing-centered resources such as databases, evidence based practice resources, and strategies for building an effective search.

Your Medical Center Library

How the Medical Center Library (MCL) can help you...

Easy access to research materials:

You can search for journals, books, and multimedia resources through the SLU Libraries catalog and discovery tools like SLUth Search Plus.

Databases and specialized tools:

Access to academic and clinical databases (e.g., PubMed, Web of Science, Access Medicine, ClinicalKey), which are essential for research, evidence-based practice, and coursework. We also have quick links to commonly used resources like CINAHL, SCOPUS, PubMed..

Library services:

You can find links to services such as interlibrary loan, printing/scan options, off-campus access, course reserves, and tutorials — all helpful for completing assignments or conducting research.

Help from librarians:

Find contact details to ask questions, get research assistance, or connect with a liaison librarian who specializes in health sciences areas.

Access Anywhere!

As an SLU student or faculty member, you can access online resources both on and off campus with your SLU credentials.
In-person access to the library building is available to current SLU students, faculty, and staff.

While the Medical Center Library and Pius XII Library are separate, we share many resources.
We recommend starting at the Medical Center Library for quick links to CINAHL, PubMed, and other key tools.
